I Had Enough!

Ha! I go back to the article in the Free Press Newspaper and she this, "As a judge, Sobol said he will always be prepared for his cases and will rule based on fact and law" and think what a joke! I have tried to have my attorney show facts and make my husband accountable for his actions. He has done NOTHING! He would not even hear that my husband is driving passed the house! When I told the police about it they said that streets are public access ways and he is allowed to use them. Really? So nothing can be done until he comes into the house and harms or kills me? That would be something the police and judge could do something about?
Order of Protections are jokes! I have a friend in FL and a friend in NY who have had problems in the court system also with Orders of Protection. They don't protect and the police and courts don't follow the laws either. Contempt of Court is contempt, but no one still wants to do anything. The judges are the ones who sign the orders, yet won't stand behind them. Yes, you Judge Sheldon Sobol!
I just found this article about the new IL laws on Domestic Violence. Okay, so why isn't anything being done? New IL law to help protect domestic violence victims August 22, 2014 and if I may add again, why isn't anything being done to not only help me, but other victims? Why are you protecting the abuser more?

My court date today
Today was the most stressful day! Have you ever felt so angry it just brought you to tears? Well, I have and let me tell you it is the worst feeling I have ever felt. It went so deep into my soul; almost through my body. It was so wrenching and I cannot believe that those kind of feelings were inside of me. This is something no one should ever have to experience. After that I decided to try and see if I could blog my story because I am not alone.
Domestic violence, what does it mean to you? According to the domesticviolence.org webpage it means "Domestic violence and emotional abuse are behaviors used by one person in a relationship to control the other. Partner may be married or not married; heterosexual, gay, or lesbian; living together, separated or dating" (2009 (Domestic Violence Definition). To me, it means many things. It means different things when he was here in the house and different things since I got my Order of Protection. Domestic violence is not prejudice to any specific race, ethnic or religious group. It is not prejudice to sex either. Yes, men can also be victims. My story is such a train wreck that I have no idea where to begin.
I suppose that today's events would be a good place seeing that it was just an unbelievable day. Today in court we were suppose to visit certain things one motion to vindicate a previous order. It was a joke! I also suspect that my husband poisoned one of my dogs. There has never been an issue with any of my dogs in the 12 years we have lived here. On July 14th there was a lapse in the Order of Protection, only about one and a half hours. I didn't have the money to get to court, so I gathered some scrape metals and it was enough to get me to court to get a new order done. My husband left me penniless when he left, but that will be later on. I just wanted to point out that he had 100% of all financial information.
So far, I mentioned the vacate of the previous order and the dog issue. One of the other things was that my husband he had signed my name on a title that was in my name only. He went and trade my car in for a used car with a $200+ a month payment. I did file a complaint with the Illinois Secretary of State Police, which I did not know existed. They told me that they could not do anything. Let me back up just a moment. This took place on July 22nd, 2014 after the judge signed an order that no marital property could be sold or destroyed. The ISSP told me that because we are going through a divorce that it isn't criminal, it is for the judge to decide on this matter. Really???? The verdict is coming!
The other thing that was to be brought up was the fact that I am only getting $80 a month. Yes, you read that right! I original said $80 a week, and somehow managed $20 a week. This was to be ruled on. I gave my attorney the documentation to back that fact up.
The last thing was that my husband stopped making the mortgage payment and is not paying the other bills on time. He is getting over $1700 because he is currently an unemployed union member who makes good money; union wages. When he first left, he went to Stevensvill, MI where we use to go when we went to Silver Lake Beach in St. Joseph, MI. He is going on mini vacations while I am trying to figure out how to get gas to get to the food pantries.
The only thing I remember Judge Sobol saying is that he did not think visiting my spousal support was an emergency. I sure would like to see him live on $20 a week. Come on Judge Sheldon Sobol, really? I just found an article when he became the new associate judge of Grundy County in Morris, "Grundy County State's Attorney Sheldon Sobol has been selected to serve as the county's new associate judge" (2011, Free Press Newspaper). In this same article, a quarter of the way down, it takes about Sobols domestic violence diversion program. What a joke! I can tell you the main problem with this program is that offenders can lie all they way through it. The biggest problem with this program is that they don't ask to hear from the victim or witnesses if the program is helping the abuser. The victim is not given the chance to speak out. I should have been asked to be at each court date so I could give them progress reports. It should be required that the victim be invited to speak on the progress of the abuser in court. I was never asked.
Let's get back to this horrible day. The only thing I remember the judge saying is that he did not feel that my spousal support was not important to visit today. I was so shocked I started to cry. When I read the document my attorney was writing up for the two judges to sign, than reading the Judge did not find anything important enough to visit today and is making me wait until the 5th of September. I was so upset, I was in tears, I stormed out of the courtroom. My attorney managed to follow me as I stormed out. I said a few words to her and left the courthouse immediately. My bus wasn't picking me up until 10 o'clock so I sat on one of the benches in front of the courthouse. I was still crying at this point.
To top matters off, my husband is getting really brave. Because the court system does not think my order of protection and spousal support are emergencies, while I was waiting for my bus, he was there. He pulled into the driveway of a bank right across the street, turned around and paused while staring at me. Now get this, right to my right in clear sight are his attorney with an officer. If I could see them, they could see me, so I know they seen him, yet did nothing. I never once made eye contact with him.
I am getting very tired. I will continue my story of today tomorrow. Good night!
